SBC Summit Americas to Explore Smarter, More Coordinated Player Protection Strategies
As operators across the Americas face growing pressure to identify gambling-related harm earlier and build safer player journeys, SBC Summit Americas will place player protection firmly at the centre of the conversation through its dedicated Player Protection Symposium.
Taking place on Wednesday, June 10, the symposium will bring together operators, regulators, responsible gambling specialists, and technology providers to explore how smarter technology, clearer communication, and more coordinated self-exclusion frameworks can help the industry move beyond compliance-driven approaches towards more proactive player protection strategies.
The track forms part of SBC Summit Americas’ six-stage conference agenda covering sports betting and casino, affiliation, leadership, payments & tech, and regulation.
“Player protection works best when it is fully integrated into the player experience,” said Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC. “Players need clear information, timely support, and tools that are easy to understand before problems escalate. For operators, that means considering responsible gambling at every stage of the player journey, from the first message a player sees to how support is provided when risk appears.
“This symposium will explore what that looks like in practice and how the industry can build safer, more consistent player experiences across the Americas.”
Much of the symposium will focus on how technology and data are reshaping player protection strategies across the Americas. Smarter Engagement, Safer Play: Rethinking Responsible Gaming will examine how operators can utilize technology to make player protection more proactive and naturally embed it into the player experience. Panellists Cristhian Cardenas (Compliance Director, Rushbet), John Parsons (CBO Gaming, Trustly), Paula Murphy (Head of Commercial, Mindway AI), Christopher Schroder (Director, Colorado Division of Gaming), Phil Sherwood (Senior Director of Responsible Gaming, PrizePicks) and Adam Warrington (Vice President, Responsible Gaming, Underdog) will will discuss how AI, behavioral data and stronger cross-department collaboration can help operators identify risk earlier and support players across the customer journey.
Bringing the themes of technology and communication together, Clearer Messages, Safer Players: Streamlining Responsible Gambling and Self-Exclusion through Coordinated Communication and Smarter Technology will tackle how operators can create a more joined-up approach to player protection. Experts Christopher Hebert (Chairman, Louisiana Gaming Control Board), Tom Sage (Executive Vice President, Sports Betting Regulators Association), Shane R. Saum (Head of US Government Affairs, Dabble), Dr. Jennifer Shatley (Executive Director, Responsible Online Gaming Association) and Michael Soll (President, ICRG) will discuss whether the industry can work together to create a unified player protection framework which is simple and easy to access for at-risk players.
More than just a conference agenda, SBC Summit Americas will also give delegates access to companies developing the compliance, identity, fraud prevention, payments, and risk-management tools that support safer gaming environments. Exhibitors, including Advanced Compliance Tech, GBG, GeoComply, and SEON, will showcase solutions relevant to player protection, from risk detection and identity checks to compliance controls and safer operational processes.
SBC Summit Americas will take place from June 9 to 11, 2026, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
