Lagos has issued a blacklist with 37 unlicensed operators
As part of the increased regulation, the Lagos State Lottery and Gambling Authority has issued a warning to 37 unlicensed operators, in accordance with the LSLGA gambling legislation.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Lottery and Gambling Authority, Mr. Basir Abiola Are, issued a recommendation to players to refrain from using unlicensed gambling platforms in order to avoid fraud and deception.
The list of 37 unlicensed operators includes: Betwinner, Bestbet360, Msport, Melbet, Chopbarh, Lottonigeria, Chase Lotto, Bangbet, Booster99, Betika and Nairamillion. Other sites include Home and Cars, Hamabet, Paripesa, Megabet, Bet365, Cloudbet, Zoomlifestyle, Zebet, Livescorebet, Allcitybet, 22bet, Lottomania, Gablotto, Lucky Number, Bettybingo, Lovingbet, Ebonybet, Betmonster, Superbet, Pmubet, Zenithbet, Mars Leisure Pools, Ubc 365bet , Afribet and Easybet.
Some of the operators on this list previously had a valid NLRC license issued by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission. The regulatory authority issued a license that applied to all states of Nigeria, but in 2024, the National Lottery Act was invalidated by the Supreme Court, which led to the fact that gambling regulation now falls under the jurisdiction of states outside the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.
