Ataur Rosul Abeer: "The Slotegrator team shares the idea of the importance of keeping the quality high"

Ataur Rosul Abeer, the Senior Sales Manager of Slotegrator, was interviewed exclusively by Gambling Talk. During the interview, he shared insights into Slotegrator's mission and values, their approach to responsible gaming policies, and the global trend towards regulating gambling markets.

When was Slotegrator founded? Tell us more about your company

Slotegrator was founded in 2012 as a B2B gambling software and services provider by an experienced team of professionals. For many years our company has been working to contribute to online casinos and sportsbooks success — we develop turnkey online casino platform, integrate games via APIgrator, provide solutions for management of affiliate programs, crypto platforms, bonuses, payment methods, as well as a mobile alternative to a traditional gambling platform Telegram casino. We also offer consultancy services, help with licensing acquisition, and a huge knowledge base.

We wanted to create a business where operators would get complex support and cover all their needs and we did. To keep providing high quality services we follow trends, constantly network, and stay on top of all innovations.

What’s the company’s mission, what are your values?

The Slotegrator team shares the idea of the importance of keeping the quality high.

We communicate with online casino operators for years and know exactly what problems they need to solve and what their players expect from them. This allows us to develop solutions that help optimize the working process, save time and resources, collect and analyze data. Our main mission is to always get you covered.

What is your vision of the Latin American markets’ development?

There is no doubt that the focus of the gambling community on this region is rightful. Latin America was always actively betting, today it’s also becoming regulated.

Newly emerging legal markets are the best opportunity to expand there — audience is ready to gamble, and the competition is still low. Operating on a freshly opened market is a chance to become an established brand and gain trust of local players.

Online gambling is regulated in some provinces of Argentina, Colombia, Guyana, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and Venezuela; Peru, Brazil are on the way. The regulated gambling market of Latin America is expected to generate $6.75 billion annually by 2027. Over 44% of Braziliads participated in sports betting in 2022, 39% of Argentinians placed a bet at least once a month in and 20% — at least once a week in 2023, 41% of Peruvians bet weekly. We don’t have statistics for 2024, but we are sure that after we close the year the numbers will be more than impressive.

What about other regions, do they also develop that rapidly?

The iGaming industry is developing around the world, it’s true. Not every region has the same approach and pace of creating the laws, we have to take into account cultural backgrounds, religion, history, income, and many other aspects.

At the moment we also focus on Asia — projected market volume $7.51 billion by 2029. The region is huge, the list of regulated markets include Armenia, Georgia, some states of India, Macau and Hong Kong in China. The use of cryptocurrencies and VPN positively affects the number of players in the region.

Europe is a large and very active region with high incomes and detailed regulations, and new regulations emerge. The key to success is a good research  — know what games players in a particular countries like, what languages they speak, and how they prefer to play and give it to them.

What is your stance towards the responsible gaming policy?

We believe that responsible approach is the future of gambling. The industry is growing and developing, all participants get more and more educated, and governments define rules. Responsible gambling policy is one of the basic requirements in all jurisdictions: protect minors, introduce self-exclusion tools, focus on verification, check your players, detect risks of problem behavior and… enlighten your audience about these measures.

This will make you compliant with the licensing conditions and boost your reputation. Modern players expect this attitude, especially if we talk about the young generation that, among other habits, uses cryptocurrency for anonymity and provably fair games for guaranteed randomness.

Do you notice the tendency to regulate gambling markets across the globe? Why do you think this is happening?

Yes, and one of the reasons is exactly what we discussed in the previous question. Regulated controllable market is easier to organize than a gray market with no rules. Besides, generating taxes is beneficial for society.

New technologies allow to make the whole process more transparent, and players feel more confident placing bets. There are also player forums where they can share reviews, streamers who can comment on different games — there is a demand for fair play.

The rules are stricter and stricter with every year, how do online casinos work in such conditions?

Well, gambling business can survive and succeed in a regulated world if it’s licensed and certified. There are many ways to promote your services and stay compliant. One great contribution to your marketing strategy is a good reputation of a fair and transparent business.

What are the advantages of licensed operation? Is it more beneficial?

There is no question that legal operation is the right path, getting licensed and certifying the software is a must today. First of all, this way companies avoid fines and don’t waste their capital. Second, player trust is a foundation of the whole venture, and a licensing body logo on your website is the fastest way to show that your casino is worth trying. Besides, you might want to look for an investor or work on PR strategy where license would play a role.

And that’s not to mention that nobody wants to get in legal trouble.

Another thing is that acquiring a license is difficult. The whole process might discourage online casino operators, however we insist that it’s a solvable problem. For those who don’t know where to start we constantly publish useful articles on our website, there is a gambling regulation world map, and we recently prepared a downloadable guide about licensing jurisdictions that’s supposed to provide a brief overview of four regulators and their requirements for easy comparison.

What jurisdictions are the most popular among operators to get licensed?

Today we see the highest interest in four licenses: Curaçao, even though it is in a transition period and confuses a bit, is in high demand, Anjouan, as an alternative of affordable license, Isle of Man, and Kahnawake.

What parameters do you suggest to consider when choosing a license?

We covered all parameters that we believe are necessary for decision making in our downloadable guide and structured them in comparison tables. Check it out on our website in Slotegrator Academy.

We compared types of licenses, fees, taxes, requirements, regions of operation, terms of issuing and validity periods. This is a list of the most important features to compare on the initial stage of your research. For the rest you can contact Slotegrator to get a consultation or assistance with getting licensed.
