Winners Incorporated commits L$5 Million to Liberia's 2024/25 National County Sports Meet
Winners Incorporated has announced a sponsorship of five million Liberian dollars (L$5,000,000) for the 2024/25 National County Sports Meet. Hosted by Bong County, with Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, and Grand Cape Mount as co-hosts, this annual event is a knockout tournament featuring football and kickball competitions among Liberia's 15 counties. The aim is to foster unity and unearth new sports talents across the nation.
The sponsorship includes L$4,800,000 allocated for champions' prizes and individual awards, with L$200,000 dedicated to operational costs. Football champions will receive L$2,000,000, runners-up L$1,000,000, and third-place teams L$500,000. Individual accolades include L$250,000 for the Most Valuable Player and L$100,000 for various standout performers. In kickball, champions will earn L$300,000, runners-up L$100,000, and third-place teams L$50,000.
Alex Stone, CEO of Winners Incorporated, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sports development and expressed hopes for Liberia’s success on the international stage.
Youth and Sports Minister Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu commended Winners Incorporated for its significant contributions to sports development.
