In Brazil, the vote on a bill to legalize sports betting has again been postponed. Initially, the document was planned to be considered in the Senate on November 29, but the vote did not take place due to more than 100 amendments to the document. The new date for voting on the draft law was set on December 5, but on that day there was no quorum to consider the law.

Let us recall that earlier the Economic Affairs Committee of the Brazilian Senate (CAE) approved an amendment reducing the tax on betting income from 18% to 12%, and introducing a 15% tax on player winnings.

As previously reported, the bill allows the offering of gambling only to companies registered under Brazilian law in the country. A three-year operator license will be available for BRL 30 million. Only licensed operators will be able to place advertisements for sports betting. However, they will be prohibited from offering bonuses to clients.

Persons over 18 years of age will be able to place bets.
