UK online gambling revenue up 5% in Q2 2023
UK gross online gambling revenue in the second quarter of 2023 was £1.30bn. This follows from the Gambling Commission (UKGC) report published recently, which is based on data from the largest gambling operators, covering about 80% of the British gambling market.
The increase was driven by a 12% increase in live event betting revenue to £538m. This was facilitated by the Grand National races in April of this year.
Online gambling revenue rose 3% to £583m.
The number of online bets increased by 6%, while the average monthly number of active accounts increased by 5%.
Retail betting revenue rose 0.7% to £588m.
