UK gaming revenue up 7% in FY2023
UK gross gaming revenue (GGY) for the financial year ended 31 March 2023 was £15.1 billion. This follows from a report published recently by the Gambling Commission (UKGC).
Compared to the previous fiscal year, GGY grew by 6.8%.
The share of retail gambling increased over the year from 35% to 41%, amounting to £4.5 billion.
The National Lottery generated revenue of £4.15 billion.
£4.0 billion was generated by online casino games, with £3.32 billion of this amount attributed to slot machines.
Online sports betting revenue was £2.3 billion. Football accounted for £1.1 billion in bets.
Online bingo generated revenue of £174 million.
Total online gambling revenue grew by 2.8% over the year, reaching £6.5 billion.
