Uganda and Namibia partner to elevate National Lottery operations
The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board of Uganda, led by Chairman Aloysius Mugasa Adyeri, along with Rt. Honourable Margaret Nantongo Zziwa and Nalongo Rebecca Nassimbwa, recently welcomed a delegation from Namibia's Gaming Board for a benchmarking exercise. This visit aimed to explore the establishment and management of a National Lottery, resulting in an agreement to collaborate and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for future cooperation.
The Namibian delegation, comprised of senior officials, expressed a strong interest in the operational and regulatory frameworks essential for a successful National Lottery. The Ugandan Board provided an in-depth presentation that covered critical areas such as governance, compliance, and revenue generation strategies.
Following the presentation, an interactive discussion allowed the Namibian officials to pose questions, fostering a rich exchange of insights and experiences that enhanced the learning process for both parties.
A key outcome of this visit was the decision to formalize their collaboration through an MOU, which will lay the groundwork for ongoing partnerships focused on training, regulatory frameworks, and operational support.
