The Netherlands intends to limit deposits for online gambling
The Dutch authorities intend to limit deposit limits on online gambling, which are currently set by players themselves. According to the website of the gambling regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the relevant initiative was made by the Minister of Legal Defence Frank Verwind.
If players aged between 18 and 24 set a monthly deposit limit of €150, the operator must contact them and inform them of the risk of losing this amount, as well as tell them about measures to help with problem gambling. If the limit exceeds €300, players will be asked to prove their income.
For players over the age of 24, proof of income will be required when setting a deposit of €700 or more. If the limit is between €350 and €700, the operator must contact customers for a preventative conversation.
If the player cannot be contacted, their access to their gaming account will be suspended.
