The City Council of São José dos Campos (São Paulo state) postponed the vote on the bill to create a municipal lottery
On August 21, the bill to create a municipal lottery was supposed to be considered at the meeting, but due to the lack of consensus, the bill was not considered.
This happened because the bill, sent to the City Council urgently on June 4, was not considered within 45 days, as a result of which the Chamber could only vote on other issues.
This was not the first attempt to pass a bill to create a municipal lottery, there was already an almost successful experience: in November 2021, two council members from the ruling coalition filed a similar bill, which was even unanimously approved by the City Council, but the following month the mayor vetoed this initiative.
