Taxes on gambling business will be increased in Georgia
In Georgia, taxes on gambling will be increased in 2024. Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced this recently at a government meeting.
According to him, the tax rate on gambling income will increase from 10% to 15%. Also, the tax on gambling winnings will increase from 2% to 5%.
As Garibashvili noted, the increase in taxes is caused by an increase in the turnover of the gambling business from 48 billion lari to 52 billion lari, which, according to the prime minister, is a “catastrophic indicator.”
It should be noted that at the end of 2022, the gambling business transferred a record amount of 739 million lari to the budget of Georgia
