Tanzania worries about children gambling on PlayStation
A meeting was held on August 12, organized by the Office of the Registrar of the Treasury, which was attended by media editors and Daniel Olesumayan, the acting CEO of the Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT). The purpose of the meeting was to raise awareness about the harms of gambling and clarify the role of the board in regulating it.
According to Daniel Olesumayan, children can be seriously threatened by some games that are modified to facilitate gambling. He also added that parents should monitor what their children are playing to prevent the influence of gambling.
The GBT is now preparing to launch a nationwide responsible gambling campaign, which aims to educate young people about the risks of gambling.
