Swedish Q3 2023 gambling revenue exceeded SEK6.7bn
The gross gaming revenue of Sweden's licensed gambling companies in the third quarter of 2023 was SEK 6.736 billion (EUR 577.7 million). This follows from a report published on November 8 by the Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen).
Compared to the same period last year, when revenues reached SEK 6.777 billion, they decreased by 0.6%.
Svenska Spel's revenues from online gambling, including online casinos and online sports betting, reached SEK 4.311 billion. Svenska Spel Tur's revenues from lotteries and Vegas slot machines amounted to SEK 1.402 billion. National lotteries and other games for public purposes generated SEK 804 million. State-owned land-based casinos, operated by Svenska Spel Casino Cosmopol, generated revenue of CZK 149 million. Revenue from restaurant casinos was SEK 62 million and bingo revenue was SEK 49 million.
At the end of the third quarter, more than 99 thousand people were suspended from gambling under the Spelpaus self-exclusion scheme, an increase of 4.0% on the previous quarter.
