Swedish gambling operator revenue decreased by 1% in Q2 2023

The total revenue of Swedish gambling operators for the second quarter of 2023 was SEK 6.7 billion (EUR 562 million). This follows from a report published on September 6 by the Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen).
Compared to the same period last year, when revenue reached SEK 6.77bn, it was down 1,1%.
Svenska Spel's revenue from online gambling, including online casinos and online sports betting, reached SEK 4.18bn. This segment accounted for 62.4% of the total revenue generated.
The Svenska Spel Tur division's revenue from lotteries and Vegas slot machine halls totalled SEK 1.40bn. National lotteries and other games for public purposes brought in SEK 896m. State-owned land-based casinos operated by Svenska Spel's Casino Cosmopol division generated revenue of SEK 126m. Restaurant casinos generated SEK 51m in revenue and bingo generated SEK 48m.
At the end of the second quarter, around 95,000 people were suspended from gambling under the Spelpaus self-exclusion scheme, an increase of 1.4% on the previous quarter.
