SportPesa's Ksh 75 Million partnership with Shabana FC boosts Kenyan football
Leading online betting company SportPesa has announced a major sponsorship deal with Shabana FC, a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) team. The three-year partnership, valued at Ksh 75 million ($580 000), positions SportPesa as the main sponsor of the club, marking another significant investment in Kenyan football.
The sponsorship was unveiled during a ceremony on Thursday, attended by Kisii Governor and Shabana FC patron, Hon. Simba Arati. Governor Arati expressed confidence in the team’s future and assured that the Gusii Stadium, which has been under renovation, is ready to host Shabana's home matches in the upcoming season.
SportPesa's commitment to supporting Kenyan sports is evident as Shabana FC becomes the third top-tier football club to benefit from their backing, following record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia and Murang’a Seal.
The partnership is set to begin with the 2024/25 season, which kicks off on August 24. Shabana FC, who recently secured their place in the top flight after a 17-year absence, finished 14th in their comeback season. With this new sponsorship, the club hopes to improve its standings in the league.
