Spanish online GGR sees 23,6% hike in Q3 2023
Gross gambling revenue (GGR) in Spain for the third quarter of 2023 amounted to 304.6 million euros. This follows from the recently published report of the General Directorate for the organisation of gambling (DGOJ).
According to the contents of the document, revenue increased by 23.6% compared to the same period last year. The growth compared to the previous quarter was 2.67 per cent.
Online casino revenues totalled €160.26 million. Revenues from sports betting reached €113.49 million. Poker revenues reached €26.81 million and bingo revenues reached €3.64 million.
There were 78 licensed operators in the country. Online casino games were offered by 50 of them. 42 operators accepted online sports betting. Nine companies operated online poker sites. Three companies operated under an online bingo operators' licence and two organised online betting.
The operators spent €93.33 million on marketing. More than half of this amount (€47.68m) was spent on promotions,
During the quarter, there were 1,082,743 monthly active gaming accounts in Spain.
