South Africa’s PowerBall Jackpot Reaches R140 Million After No Winner in October 10 Draw
The biggest PowerBall jackpot of 2025 continues to grow — after no player matched all six numbers in Friday’s draw, South Africa’s national lottery operator Ithuba confirmed that the top prize has rolled over to R140 million (approximately €6.8 million).
The 10 October draw offered a guaranteed R130 million, already the largest jackpot of the year. However, since no ticket matched the full winning combination, the jackpot has now climbed to R140 million ahead of the next draw scheduled for Tuesday, 14 October.
Ithuba reported that the PowerBall Plus jackpot also rolled over, increasing to R21 million. The results of both draws showed no full winners, though thousands of players won smaller secondary prizes.
The record prize is generating significant public excitement, with queues forming at retail outlets and a surge in online ticket sales. Ithuba reminded players that entries can be purchased both in-store and digitally until 20:30 local time on the day of the draw.
If won, the R140 million jackpot would be among the largest PowerBall prizes in South African history, marking another milestone for the country’s fast-growing lottery market.
