The Italian online operator Sisal, which was acquired last summer by the largest gambling company Flutter Entertainment, became the owner of a concession license for sports betting in Morocco following the results of the last tender. This was recently announced in the gambling regulator of the African country - La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports (MDJS).

Sisal will become the only online and retail sports betting operator in Morocco.

The license will take effect on January 1, 2024. The agreement is designed for eight years with the possibility of extension for another two years.

“The MDJS decision is a testament to the quality of our work and our achievements in the country over the past three years in a country with great potential. This is our fourth successful international tender, each of which has been highly competitive. Belonging to Flutter expands our offering and allows us to develop collaborative products and services for different market segments,” said Marco Caccavale, CEO of Sisal Jeux Maroc and International Managing Director of Sisal, commenting on the company's obtaining an exclusive license.

Recall that in September last year, Sisal also won a tender to operate lotteries and sports betting in Tunisia.
