The winning numbers on the ticket matched all six numbers required for the jackpot: 7, 10, 11, 13, 24, and the Powerball number 24. The last time the Powerball lottery jackpot was won was in April 2023.
It's worth noting that the size of this jackpot became the third-largest in the history of the lottery. According to the rules of the lottery, the winner will have the option to choose between receiving the full prize in equal installments over 29 years or a lump-sum payment of $558.1 million after taxes.
As a reminder, the largest jackpot in the history of the lottery was won in November 2022 when a California resident, Edwin Castro, became the winner of a $2.04 billion prize.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. Powerball tickets cost $2 and are sold in 45 US states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
