Portugal plans to introduce new requirements for crash game operators. The corresponding document was recently published on the website of the Gambling Regulatory and Inspection Service (SRIJ). Stakeholders may propose changes to it within 30 days.

Crash gaming was allowed to operate in Portugal in May 2022 through changes to the legislation governing online gambling. Games are based on a multiplier that increases throughout the game. Players aim to withdraw their bet before the end of the game, receiving their initial bet multiplied by a multiplier. If they don't do this before the end of the game, they will lose their bet.

Nowadays, crash games have become the most popular games among online gambling enthusiasts. The authorities plan to oblige operators to obtain permits to conduct them.

The document notes that game rounds can be completed with a multiplier factor ranging from 1.00 to 100.00. The regulator also obliged operators to provide a return of at least 80% of the funds deposited by customers to participate in the game, and listed other requirements for conducting crash games.
