Real Madrid monitor Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai ahead of potential summer move
According to Spanish media reports and the programme El Chiringuito de Jugones, Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Dominik Szoboszlai, the Hungarian midfielder of Liverpool F.C., with a potential summer 2026 transfer in their sights.
Szoboszlai, 25, joined Liverpool in 2023 under contract until 2028, and his performances have increasingly attracted attention. According to oneFootball, Real Madrid view him as a future midfield cornerstone and are “closely monitoring the situation,” though the player remains financially out of reach for now.
CaughtOffside reports that Liverpool have already opened initial contract-extension talks with Szoboszlai in response to the interest. The club reportedly considers him a central piece in their medium-term strategy and are unwilling to entertain offers without a new agreement.
While Real Madrid tend to favour developing younger players on high potential, the tempo and technical profile of Szoboszlai fit the blueprint of their midfield evolution. For betting operators, affiliates and sports-business stakeholders, the speculation over destination, timing and fee adds further narrative to the January/June transfer window and may influence shifts in odds for major-midfielder moves.
