PstBet set to launch operations in Botswana on December 20
PstBet, a prominent betting company, has announced that it will commence operations in Botswana on December 20, 2024. The announcement was made via the company’s official Instagram account on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone in its expansion efforts across Africa.
In preparation for the launch, the Botswana Gambling Authority conducted training sessions on Responsible Gambling and AML/CFT/CPF (Anti-Money Laundering, Combating the Financing of Terrorism, and Countering the Financing of Proliferation) for PstBet employees. This initiative ensures the company aligns with regulatory standards and promotes ethical business practices.
Originally established in Namibia, PstBet has been expanding its footprint in the African sports betting market. The company received a sports betting license from the Botswana Gambling Authority in August 2024.
PstBet is also venturing into the Democratic Republic of Congo, where it will operate under the name PstBet SARLU, having been granted a license there in late October. This regional expansion highlights the company’s ambitions to become a key player in the African gaming industry.
