Portugal casino revenue up 14% in Q3 2023
Gross gambling revenue from Portugal's 11 casinos totalled €76.13 million in the third quarter of 2023. This is according to a report published this month by the Gambling Regulation and Inspection Service (SRIJ).
Compared to the previous quarter of this year, revenue was up 14.0 per cent. When compared to the same period, the increase was 14 per cent.
EUR 57.19 million of revenue was attributable to slot machines, up 1.0% year-on-year. Casino table games and bingo brought in €18.94 million. The most popular game was baccarat, revenue from which amounted to 5.86 million euros.
Recall that of the 11 casinos in Portugal, five are managed by Solverde Gaming Group. The company operates casinos in Espinho, Chaves, Vilamoura, Monte Gordo and the Algarve. Operator Estoril-Sol operates three casinos in Lisbon, Estoril, Rovoa de Varzima. The casino on the Troia Peninsula is operated by operator Oxy Capital, while the concession for the Madeira Island casino is held by the Pestana Group.
