Pakistan Blocks 46 Mobile Apps Linked to Illegal Gambling
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has banned 46 mobile apps linked to illegal online gambling, breaching user privacy and threatening the country’s financial security.
The blocked apps include well-known ones such as 1xBet, Aviator Games, 22Bet and Bet365.
The agency said that these apps access users’ personal data, mobile device identifiers and SIM card information without the user’s knowledge.
Concerns were also raised about the financial threat posed by some of the blocked apps. They engage in unregulated Forex and binary options trading, which are often used for illegal financial transactions.
People were urged not to download unlicensed or unregulated gambling platforms. Pakistani regulators will continue to crack down on the rapid spread of illegal online gambling platforms.
