PAGCOR casinos to be sold in 2025

The Philippine Entertainment and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) intends to privatize its casinos by the third quarter of 2025. This was stated by the head of PAGCOR Alejandro Tengko during his speech in the House of Representatives, where the national budget was discussed.

According to Tengko, the sale of the casino should bring in between 60 billion Philippine pesos ($1.06 billion) and 80 billion Philippine pesos ($1.41 billion).

As a reminder, the Philippine Entertainment and Gambling Corporation (PAGCOR) acts as the regulator of casinos and gambling. The company authorizes and licenses gambling, including blackjack, craps, poker, slot machines and bingo. There are currently 12 casinos in the Philippines licensed by the regulator, which host more than 2,300 gaming tables and about 20,000 slot machines.

PAGCOR also operates 13 of its own casinos, including Casino Filipino Midas, Casino Filipino Malate, Casino Filipino Pavilion

PAGCOR's gaming revenue for the six months of 2023 was PhP 34.12 billion ($623 million).
