Online gambling legalised in Argentina's Santa Fe province
The Senate of the Argentine province of Santa Fe last Thursday approved a bill to regulate online gambling. A day earlier, the Chamber of Deputies voted in favour of the law.
The passed law replaces a piece of legislation in effect since November 2020 that allowed land-based casinos in the province to conduct online casino games during the coronavirus pandemic.
The document introduces an authorisation to accept online sports betting. It also raises the tax rate on online gambling income from 10 per cent to 15 per cent. Only land-based casinos will be allowed to accept online betting. As a reminder, there are three casinos in the province, located in Rosario, Santa Fe and Melincue.
