A $1.326 billion jackpot was won last week in the Powerball lottery. The lottery organizers reported this.

The winning ticket was purchased in Oregon. Information about the lucky winner's winnings has not yet been published. The ticket matched all five numbers needed to win the jackpot - 44, 27, 52, 22, 69, as well as Powerball 9.

It is worth noting that the jackpot size was the fourth in the history of US lotteries. According to lottery rules, the winner will be able to choose to receive the prize in full equal installments over 30 years or a lump sum payment, which will be $621 million before taxes.

Let us remind you that the largest jackpot in lottery history was won in November 2022, when California resident Edwin Castro won $2.04 billion.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. Powerball tickets cost $2 and are sold in 45 US states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
