North West Gambling Board holds three-day SOP training to strengthen regulatory processes
NWGB says the intensive session for senior management is aimed at standardising internal procedures and tightening transparency and accountability across core regulatory work in the province.
The North West Gambling Board (NWGB) convened its management team and senior officials for a three-day Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) training programme hosted at Royal Aloe Lodge, as part of a broader push to strengthen oversight and operational excellence in the provincial gambling sector.
The programme was held on Wednesday, 11 February 2026 and included senior leadership such as the Acting Chief Executive Officer and executive managers, with NWGB positioning the training as a practical step to keep internal practices aligned with legislative and policy frameworks.
According to the reporting, the Board views SOPs as the backbone of consistent regulatory practice, providing clear guidance for licensing decisions, compliance inspections, enforcement actions and administrative procedures, and helping ensure workflows are repeatable and auditable as business models and technology continue to evolve.
For operators, the message is straightforward: regulators are investing in internal process discipline, which typically translates into more consistent inspections, clearer expectations and tighter documentation standards across the market.
