Founded in 2014, Soccernet.ng has become a leading voice in Nigerian football, providing daily comprehensive coverage of local football alongside international trends. The platform has garnered acclaim for its quality journalism, notably winning the Sport Blog of the Year at the Nigerian Blog Awards.

This strategic acquisition enhances North Star Network's presence in Africa, adding a respected media outlet to its portfolio, which includes over 30 sports brands such as Afrik-Foot and Sportsmole. Julien Josset, Co-founder of NSN, expressed enthusiasm about the integration of Soccernet.ng into their family, highlighting the shared commitment to quality journalism and passion for football.

The existing team at Soccernet.ng will continue to play a vital role in maintaining the brand’s authenticity and voice, which has attracted a readership not only in Nigeria but also across more than 150 countries including the UK and USA. Biyi Akangbe, founder of Soccernet.ng, noted the journey from a small website focused on Nigerian football news to becoming a globally recognized source, culminating in this acquisition.
