NLGRB conducted a training for future and current teachers of Sancta Maria Core Primary Teather's College
The National Lottery and Gambling Regulatory Council (NLGRB) conducted a training for student interns and current faculty at Sancta Maria Core Primary Teather's College in Nkokongeru, Buikwe District. The event was organized as part of the empowerment of student educators in the fight against the spread of gambling among students.
The purpose of the meeting was:
- To train future and current teachers at the age of 25 to take a responsible approach to gambling
- Inform about the risks of gambling
- To draw the attention of young participants to the legal, psychological and social dangers that minors may face due to gambling
- To remind the participants of the event that only persons over the age of 25 can participate in activities related to betting or gambling
- To encourage future teachers to take professional responsibility for advising and accompanying students at risk
More than 150 students and 35 teachers took part in the training.
