Nigeria's NLRC and EFCC strengthen alliance against gaming fraud
The National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have agreed to review their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to address issues related to money laundering and terrorism financing in the gaming industry. The NLRC informed the public about this agreement through their official account on X.
This decision was made during a recent meeting aimed at enhancing collaboration between the two agencies.
The NLRC, responsible for regulating lotteries and gaming in Nigeria, has been actively working to ensure compliance and integrity within the sector.
The EFCC, tasked with combating financial crimes, emphasized the importance of this partnership in tackling fraudulent activities.
Both agencies plan to establish a joint committee to identify and resolve existing challenges.
This initiative reflects a broader commitment to safeguarding the integrity of Nigeria's gaming industry and protecting consumers from illicit practices.
