During the recent International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) conference held in Rome, Mark Pace, President of the International Gaming Standards Association (IGSA), held discussions with Bashir Are, CEO of the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority. Their dialogue centered on advancing a unified regulatory framework across African gaming jurisdictions, with a key focus on establishing a dedicated GSA Africa office. This initiative aims to foster collaboration and standardization throughout Africa’s regulated gaming markets, supporting growth and consistency across the industry.

The two leaders also discussed IGSA's anticipated role in the African Gaming Exhibition (AGE) 2025, scheduled to be held in Lagos. This event is expected to be a major gathering for gaming industry stakeholders, providing a platform for networking and strategic dialogue.

Founded in 1998, IGSA is a cornerstone in the gaming industry, committed to developing standards that enhance innovation and streamline operations for manufacturers, suppliers, operators, and regulators globally. By acting as a bridge between regulators and industry participants, IGSA supports the growth of regulated gaming worldwide.

The IAGR conference, held from October 21-24, 2024, in Rome, convened leading regulators and gaming professionals to exchange insights on current regulatory challenges and innovations. The event featured keynote presentations, expert-led panels, and networking sessions, all set in the historic city of Rome, offering attendees a valuable experience of both learning and cultural enrichment.
