Nigeria’s FowlPlay Crowned PUBG Mobile Champions at AFROWEST Esports Games 2025
The Nigerian esports team FowlPlay secured a decisive victory in the PUBG Mobile final at the AFROWEST Esports Games 2025, defeating Senegal in a tense and action-packed match that highlighted the growing strength of West African competitive gaming.
The AFROWEST Esports Games 2025, held from September 25 to 28, brought together top teams from 12 West African nations to compete across multiple disciplines, including PUBG Mobile, FIFA, and Call of Duty Mobile.
In the PUBG Mobile final, FowlPlay outperformed Senegal with superior strategy, coordination, and precision shooting, finishing with 64 Play Points (PP), 55 eliminations, and 109 total team points (TP). The team’s aggressive yet disciplined playstyle proved decisive in securing the championship title.
Team captain Ade “Blaze” Adebayo credited the victory to months of preparation and teamwork:
“We trained daily for this tournament. Competing against Senegal pushed us to our limits, but our focus and strategy made the difference.”
Senegal’s squad, while delivering an impressive performance, fell short in the closing stages as Nigeria maintained map control and momentum.
The AFROWEST 2025 championship underscores the rapid rise of mobile esports in Africa. FowlPlay’s victory places Nigeria among the continent’s elite gaming nations and demonstrates the expanding opportunities for professional players across the region.
