Nigerian International Ola Aina signs contract extension with Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest, the English Premier League club, has announced a one-year extension to Ola Aina's contract, keeping the Nigerian international at the club until June 2025. The 27-year-old full-back joined Forest on a free transfer last summer and has made a positive impact in his debut season at the City Ground.

Aina made 22 appearances for Forest this season, establishing himself as a fan favorite with his energetic displays on either side of the defense.

The versatile defender scored his first goal for the club in a 2-0 home win over Aston Villa.

Aina also reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria and was named in the Team of the Tournament.

Ola Aina expressed his delight with the contract extension, saying, "I've been really happy with my time spent here at Forest, and the fans have been great. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the future holds."

Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson praised Aina's performances and personality, stating, "Since Ola joined the club last summer, he has impressed all of us with his performances both on the pitch and also with the positive personality that he brings to the group every day. We are delighted that he will move forward with us".

Nottingham Forest finished 17th in the 2023/2024 Premier League season, securing their top-flight status on the final day. The club's decision to extend Aina's contract demonstrates their commitment to building a strong squad for the future.
