A delegation from the National Lottery of Niger (LONANI) completed a benchmarking mission in Ouagadougou that began on May 21, 2025, to learn from the experience of Burkina Faso's National Lottery (LONAB) in the field of online gaming.

The visit aims to draw inspiration from LONAB’s best practices in operating and managing online gambling services, with the goal of enhancing LONANI’s performance, efficiency, and competitiveness in Niger’s gaming sector. Colonel Major Djibo expressed appreciation for LONAB’s openness in sharing its expertise, emphasizing that this reflects the strong cooperation between Niger and Burkina Faso and raises hopes for expanded collaboration within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

According to Aymar Tiendrebeogo, Technical Advisor and acting Director General of LONAB, this immersive visit by the Nigerien delegation will help strengthen the ties between the two national lotteries and deepen their ongoing partnership. On behalf of LONAB’s Director General, Tiendrebeogo reassured the delegation of LONAB’s commitment to sharing its innovations, regulatory mechanisms, and operational frameworks for online gaming.

Running through May 24, the mission includes working sessions covering legal frameworks, licensing procedures, operational structures, and management models for online gaming, aimed at fostering regional cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two institutions.
