New Jersey gaming revenue up 10.9% in 2023
Gross gaming revenue (GGR) of casinos, racetracks and online operators in the US state of New Jersey in 2023 totalled $5.78bn. This is reported in the monthly report of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), published on 16 January.
According to the contents of the document, revenue increased by 10.9 per cent compared to 2022.
Atlantic City land-based casinos generated $2.85 billion in revenue in 2023, up 2.2 per cent from a year earlier. Slot machine revenue reached $2.11 billion, while gaming tables generated $736 million in revenue.
$1.92 billion in revenue was generated from online gambling, up 15.7% from 2022.
Sports betting revenue was up 31.9 per cent to $1.01 billion.
Borgata Casino had the highest revenue of the Atlantic City gambling establishments with $729.7 million. The top three also included Hard Rock ($512.4 million) and Ocean Casino Resort ($415 million). Recall that in Atlantic City operate nine casinos: Bally's, Borgata, Caesars, Golden Nugget, Hard Rock, Harrah's, Ocean Casino Resort, Resorts and Tropicana.
