New Jersey gambling revenue up 28% in January 2024
Gross gaming revenue (GGR) of casinos, racetracks and online operators of the US state of New Jersey in January 2024 reached $559.1 million. This is reported in the monthly report of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), published on February 16.
According to the contents of the document, compared to January 2023, revenue increased by 28.0%.
Atlantic City's land-based casinos generated $205.4 million in revenue in January 2024, down 3.1% from a year earlier. Slot machine revenue reached $142.9 million and gaming table revenue reached $62.1 million.
183.3 million dollars in revenue was generated from online gambling, up 19.9% from January 2023.
Sports betting revenue was up 136.1% to $170.8 million.
Borgata Casino had the highest revenue of the Atlantic City gambling establishments with $57.6 million. The top three also included Hard Rock ($37.3 million) and Ocean Casino Resort ($33.1 million).
Recall that in Atlantic City operate nine casinos: Bally's, Borgata, Caesars, Golden Nugget, Hard Rock, Harrah's, Ocean Casino Resort, Resorts and Tropicana.
