New gambling advertising rules will be introduced in Colombia from 2024
New rules for gambling advertising are planned to be introduced in Colombia. The corresponding resolution was recently published by the gaming regulator Coljuegos.
The document outlines the rules for branding, social media and sponsorship. In addition, new limits on advertising spending are being established.
The regulation requires operators to establish mechanisms and protocols to identify signs of gambling harm and prevent those users from receiving gambling-related messages.
At the same time, the resolution concerns not only marketing monitoring, but also adds provisions regarding the bidding process and payment terms for users of online casinos and betting sites.
The new rules will apply to all licensed operators. They will come into force on January 1, 2024.
