New bill to legalize online casinos filed in New York
In the American state of New York prepared another bill on the legalisation of online casinos. The author of the document was again Senator Joe Addabbo.
The legislator proposes to tax the gross gambling income of online casino operators at a rate of 30.5%, and the cost of the licence fee is set at $2 million.
The right to accept online bets, according to Addabbo, should be granted to land-based casino operators and online bookmakers, as well as members of three indigenous tribes: the Seneca, Oneida and Mohawk.
The bill has been referred to the state Senate Committee on Racing, Betting and Gaming for consideration.
Recall that the previous bill to legalise online casinos was drafted by Adabbo in February this year, but the document was not passed by lawmakers.
According to experts, online casinos can bring New York annual tax revenues of $800 million.
