The Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) is set to lead a public awareness campaign in collaboration with the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) to promote responsible gaming. The campaign will launch on October 16, 2024, under the theme "Responsible Gaming," aimed at educating the public about gaming protocols.

Jackie Kamakune, the public relations officer for the NLGRB, announced the initiative during the USPA assembly held on October 7, 2024, at the Uganda Olympic Committee offices in Kampala.

In addition to this campaign, the USPA will hold its elective assembly on November 30, 2024. To qualify for candidacy, members must undergo a vetting process to ensure they can uphold and promote the association's image.

During the monthly meeting, incumbent president Moses Alysaed Lubega emphasized the importance of discipline within the association and stated that any acts of indiscipline would not be tolerated. He also noted that the elections were moved from November 26 to November 30 to accommodate scheduling conflicts.

Lubega mentioned that the association is planning a return of its awards programs, including the Plascon awards and monthly recognitions, with all previous winners set to receive their awards and cash prizes. He highlighted efforts made to clear the association's debts and ongoing negotiations for scholarships with Clarke International University for members and their children.
