National Gambling Board of South Africa educates gamblers on responsible practices
On October 23, the National Gambling Board (NGB) of South Africa shared an update about their recent initiative to educate gamblers at GBETS in Kathu, Northern Cape.
The focus was on raising awareness about illegal gambling and promoting responsible gambling practices. During the session, punters brought up a key concern: how to register a bet if the physical ticket is lost, ensuring they can still claim winnings—an idea that was well-received.
The NGB, which operates under the National Gambling Act of 2004, emphasizes regulating the industry to balance social responsibility and economic benefits. Their efforts aim to reduce illegal gambling while fostering responsible participation in legal gambling activities.
GBETS, a popular online sports betting platform in South Africa, was involved in this educational effort. The platform offers various betting options and features that enhance the user experience.
