Morocco's National Lottery bets on digital future with 3.6 million dirham investment

A Moroccan lottery initiative is set to invest 3.6 million Moroccan dirhams (approximately 330,000 euros) to develop a new strategic plan for the years 2028-2032. This investment comes as part of a long-standing collaboration with the Italian group SISAL, which oversees various aspects of gaming, including exploration, distribution, marketing, and product sales.

The National Lottery Management Company (SGLN), a subsidiary of Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG), is gearing up for significant changes as it prepares to launch a competition aimed at designing and implementing this strategic plan. The new strategy will focus on enhancing both technical and technological components, with an emphasis on digitalization across four key areas of concession.

The new plan should focus on technical and technological aspects - in particular, the move towards more advanced digitalisation or the review of the concession framework with the technical partner - but also on distribution and marketing.

The contract between the Moroccan National Lottery Management Company (SGLN) and the Italian group SISAL was signed in February 2018. This partnership is set for a duration of eight years, with a possible extension of two additional years.
