Mega Millions jackpot tops $1.5 billion

The Mega Millions lottery jackpot hit $1.55 billion. This happened last Friday after another drawing without a winner, which was last revealed on April 18th.

The winning numbers are 11, 30, 45, 52, 56 and the golden Mega Ball - 20.

The jackpot amount was the highest in the history of the lottery, while the world record for the largest lottery win was set on November 8, 2022. A Powerball lottery ticket sold in Altadena, California won $2.04 billion.

Under lottery rules, the $1.55 billion can be paid out in equal installments over 29 years. If the winner wants to receive the prize immediately, he will be entitled to a one-time payment of $757.2 million.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302.6 million.

The Mega Millions lottery is played in 45 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $2.
