Mega Millions jackpot tops $1 billion

The Mega Millions lottery jackpot hit $1.05 billion. This happened last Friday after the 29th consecutive drawing without a winner, which was last revealed on April 18th.

The winning numbers are 5, 10, 28, 52, 63 and the golden Mega Ball - 18.

The jackpot has become the fourth largest.

Under lottery rules, the $1.05 billion can be paid out in equal installments over 29 years. If the winner wants to receive the prize immediately, he will be entitled to a one-time payment of $527.9 million.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302.6 million.

The Mega Millions lottery is played in 45 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $2.

Recall that the world record for the largest lottery winnings was set on November 8, 2022. A Powerball lottery ticket sold in Altadena, California won $2.04 billion.
