MAGLA welcomes PremierBet Malawi’s new centre, urges responsible betting
PremierBet Malawi has reportedly launched a new gaming centre in Limbe, Blantyre, described as the brand’s largest establishment across the African continent. The facility is said to have the capacity to accommodate over 100 self-serving customers at any given time—significantly more than smaller outlets, which are believed to hold fewer than 10.
During the launch event, company representatives were quoted as saying the centre is designed to offer a modern, self-service betting experience. It was also indicated that Premier Loto draws, which had previously been inactive, would be revived and hosted at the new location.
Regulatory officials have welcomed the development, with Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA) Operations Director Lawrence Chikoko suggesting that the centre’s opening reflects the continued growth of the gaming industry in Malawi. However, he is said to have cautioned the public against engaging in gambling irresponsibly. Chikoko reportedly urged individuals to manage both time and money wisely before participating in gaming activities, emphasizing the importance of betting with discretion.
As part of the launch celebrations, PremierBet Malawi’s brand ambassador, musician Eli Njuchi, is understood to have entertained attendees with performances of some of his popular tracks, including "Tempolale" and "Gugugu."
