Macau casino gross gaming revenue exceeds $22.7bn in 2023
In 2023, Macau casinos had gross gaming revenue (GGR) of MOP 183.06 billion (USD 22.71 billion). This was revealed in a report released on January 1 by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) of the Special Administrative Region of China.
According to the contents of the document, Macau casino revenues increased by 333.8% compared to 2022, when they amounted to MOP 42.20 billion.
As for December 2023 data, Macau casino revenue reached MOP 18.57 billion, an increase of 433.3% over last year.
Let us recall that in the third quarter of 2023, 30 casinos, including satellite casinos, operated in the special administrative region of China. 13 gambling establishments operated under a license and sublicense from the operator SJM Holdings, 5 belonged to Venetian Casino, 4 each to Galaxy Casino and Melco Resorts, 2 each to Wynn Resorts and MGM. A total of 12,000 slot machines and 6,000 gaming tables were installed in Macau casinos.
