Macau gross gaming revenue down 13% in September 2023

In September 2023, gross gaming revenue (GGR) of Macau casinos totaled 14.937 billion (USD 1.85 billion). This was revealed in a report released on October 1 by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) of the Special Administrative Region of China.
According to the contents of the document, Macau casino revenues decreased by 13.2% compared to the previous month, when they reached 17.213 billion patacas. At the same time, revenues increased by 404.2% compared to the same period in 2022 when they amounted to MOP 2.96 billion.
Macau casino revenues for the nine months of 2023 amounted to 128.947 billion patacas, which is 305.3% more than a year earlier.
Let us recall that in the second quarter of 2023, 30 casinos, including satellite casinos, operated in the special administrative region of China.
13 gambling establishments operated under a license and sublicense from the operator SJM Holdings, 5 belonged to Venetian Casino, 4 each to Galaxy Casino and Melco Resorts, 2 each to Wynn Resorts and MGM. A total of 12,000 slot machines and 6,000 gaming tables were installed in Macau casinos.
