Lottery company to sponsor Nationwide League One in Nigeria
The Nationwide League One (NLO) is finalizing its largest sponsorship deal and forming partnerships with two foreign service providers, marking a significant advancement in grassroots football development in Nigeria.
The sponsorship agreement, spanning four years, is a record-breaking achievement for the NLO. NLO Chairman Silas Agara expressed optimism about the growing interest from brands aiming to elevate the league to a global standard as Africa's premier grassroots football competition.
A lottery company licensed by the Nigeria Lottery Commission will be the NLO Title Sponsors under a four-year agreement set to be unveiled on March 14, 2024. Additionally, on March 15, the NLO will reveal four prospective partners, including a Croatian-based sports tracking platform with a vast global user base. This partnership aims to enhance club operations and potentially extend services to other leagues in Nigeria for mutual development.
Another IT firm has committed to developing websites and managing social media channels for all NLO clubs, empowering them to generate independent revenue streams. This initiative is viewed as a positive step towards club growth and financial sustainability within the NLO.
Furthermore, two technical partners are set to join the NLO as Development Partners, focusing on talent discovery through technology and data utilization, with revenue sharing opportunities based on data sales.
