The City of Buenos Aires Lottery (LOTBA) reportedly launched the “Committed Engagement Certification Program” in collaboration with the city’s Sports Secretariat. The initiative was said to be aimed at encouraging neighborhood clubs, schools, NGOs, and other community organizations to create environments that promote responsible gambling and the positive values of sports while preventing underage betting.

LOTBA was reported to have expressed that the goal of the program is to ensure that every participating space becomes a place of care equipped with the professional and technical tools to address problematic gambling behaviors. The official presentation was held at Club Saber, where authorities from both LOTBA and the Sports Secretariat were in attendance.

According to event reports, participants included Jesús Acevedo, President of LOTBA; María del Pilar Martínez de Giovanni from LOTBA’s Gambling Behavior Sub-management; and Fabián Turnes, Secretary of Sports of Buenos Aires. It was indicated that the event included awareness sessions focused on helping sports institutions identify, prevent, and manage underage gambling and addiction-related issues.

Observers noted that the program's launch forms part of a broader collaboration agreement signed in the previous year between LOTBA and the Sports Secretariat, focused on promoting responsible gambling and healthy digital habits. Reports suggested that LOTBA reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility by supporting vulnerable groups through secure and healthy recreational spaces.

Martínez de Giovanni was said to have led the program’s formal presentation during the launch event. The initiative reportedly calls on community institutions to take an active role in fostering good practices around gambling behavior. Additionally, it was mentioned that LOTBA emphasized the importance of these partnerships in strengthening prevention and public awareness.

In a separate event, LOTBA was also reported to have participated in the recent edition of the “Olimpiadas Mayores,” organized by the Ministry of Human Development’s Subsecretariat for Older Adults. This gathering brought together hundreds of elderly participants at the Youth Olympic Park to promote active aging through playful and recreational activities.

LOTBA reportedly set up an educational booth as part of its “Talking Is Winning – Gambling Is for Adults” campaign, where discussions were held on promoting safe and responsible gambling environments. Observers pointed out that the organization used the opportunity to reinforce its message about minimizing the risks associated with gambling, particularly for vulnerable populations.
