LONASE transforms Senegalese sports landscape with major sponsorship deals

La Loterie Nationale Sénégalaise (LONASE) has signed landmark partnership agreements with key sporting organizations, marking a new chapter in Senegalese sports development.

"LONASE reinforces its commitment to sports! Major conventions signed with FSF, FSB, LSFP, and LSBB. A strong step towards excellence, supporting clubs and sports youth," the organization declared on its official X account.

The partnership ceremony, held on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Noom Hotel, brought together leaders from various sports federations, including the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Professional Football League (LSFP), Senegalese Basketball Federation (FSBB), and Basketball League (LSB).

LONASE's General Director, Toussaint Manga, emphasized the broader impact of these partnerships, stating that LONASE is not confined to its gaming activities. He explained that the organization plays a major role in the national economy by supporting key sectors including health, education, culture, and sports.

One of the most notable announcements is the rebranding of professional football leagues. Starting next season, the top two football divisions will be known as "Ligue 1 LONASE Bet" and "Ligue 2 LONASE Bet" for a two-year period, signaling a strong financial commitment to national football.

FSF President Augustin Senghor praised the partnership, noting that LONASE has consistently been a key player in Senegalese sports development. He expressed hope that the new convention would propel the national teams to even greater heights, potentially leading to success in another African Cup or even a World Cup final.

LONASE stands as the primary national lottery and gambling organization in Senegal. Established as a state-owned enterprise, it plays a critical role in the country's gambling sector. Beyond generating revenue for the state, LONASE has positioned itself as a significant social and economic contributor, reinvesting its profits into national development through sports, education, and social programs.

The organization operates various lottery and betting products, maintaining a monopoly on legal lottery activities in Senegal. Its strategic partnerships with sports federations not only provide financial support but also demonstrate its commitment to national development beyond traditional gambling operations.
